The Owens Blog

Owens Coffee has been crowned the Best Organic Coffee in the UK at the Soil Association's BOOM Awards.

Winners of the Best of Organic Market (BOOM) awards were announced at a prestigious ceremony at Oval Space, London.
We were delighted to be asked by Springboard, a charity helping young people facing multiple barriers find work within the hospitality industry, to run a training and coffee experience session for some of their students.

These students are on the charity’s ‘Let’s Cook’ programme: an exciting mix of kitchen based learning and industry visits, as well as self-esteem and confidence building workshops.
Organic coffee has no nasty fertilisers or pesticides used in it’s cultivation, and is shade grown. Coffee plants like shade, but farming the plant under a tree canopy is much more difficult and intensive than in an open field. If coffee plants are in full sun, when it rains, there is more wash off which means less nutrients in the soil, more chemicals going into local water systems.
Have you ever thought about improving your home coffee brewing?

Here at the Owens Academy of Coffee, we are as passionate about the coffee you drink at home, as the coffee you buy from your favourite coffee shop.

Our Spring offer is £15 off our next Home Brewing Course on Saturday 30 March, so just £50! Perfect for all coffee enthusiasts, as a gift or a treat for yourself, why not book now by clicking on this link.
